Tashahhud Arabic transliteration
“At-taḥiyyāt lillāhi waṣ-ṣalawātu waṭ-ṭayyibāt. As-salāmu ‘alayka ayyuhan-nabiyyu wa raḥmatullāhi wa barakātuh. As-salāmu ‘alayna wa ‘ala ‘ibādillāhiṣ-ṣāliḥīn. Ash-hadu an lā ilāha illallāh, wa ash-hadu anna Muḥammadan ‘abduhu wa rasūluh”
Importance Of Tashahhud prayer
1. Recognizing the Supremacy of Allah
All forms of worship, reverence, and pure deeds are only declared at the Tashahhud solely for Him. Monotheism is thus reaffirmed, and it feels like the quintessence of Tawhid, which is the foundation of the Islamic faith.
2. Linkage to Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ)
Thus, standing up in Tashahhud, by sending peace and blessings upon the Holy Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), kindles love, respect, and a sense of connection to him as the last messenger of Allah, helping the believers to tie him with their teachings and examples.
3. Unity of Believers
Prayers of “the righteous servants of Allah” state the kind of connection that Muslims share (ummah). It reminds the worshipping individuals that their faith counts them as part of a worldwide brotherhood striving toward righteousness.
4. Reaffirmation of Faith
The testimony of faith, or Shahada, recited in the Tashahhud, declares belief in Allah and His Messenger. The regular reassessment of this statement adds a reinforcer to hold on tighter to Islamic practices, and it stands as a reminder to Muslims about what they live for.
5.Spiritual Reflection
The Tashahhud also brings a hush between prayers and reflection. Such reflection, which worshippers may have upon Allah, magnifies the glorious magnificence of the Prophet’s guidance and opens their hearts into ever deeper humility and servitude.
6.Crucial Portion of Salah
The Tashahhud is a compulsory part of Salah. Failure to recite it, however, would demand a prostration for forgetfulness (Sujood of Sahw) or repetition of prayer depending on the case.
7. Its universality
Not time-limited and culture-free, it becomes a unifier in all acts of worship among Muslims, underlining the universality and timelessness of Islam’s message.
